Even though I rarely agree with him and his platform, I hoped that he'd be a better president than I had imagined him being, and America would be better off. However, this kind of talk is dangerous for our republic.
Apparently, he also forgot that he lost the popular vote by almost 3 MILLION people, which shows that those nationwide polls were fairly correct. Our balance of government branches and the freedom of the press are what makes our country great - not him, and not any other person who held the office before him.
Our country is bigger than any one person. To delegitimize those things that make's us who we are is to undermine the very foundation of our country. Trump gives himself up as the one and only "true" source of information, which from we have found is hardly true. At the same time, he stirs the masses and incites anger. Proclaiming everything dissenting and to the contrary of his opines are "Fake News".
The judiciary, the one branch who sole duty is to protect Americans from government overreach, is not immune from his rhetoric either as we have seen from his other Twitter rants over the weekend.
Like a child, he lashes out and pouts when he doesn't get his way. Trump's actions, regardless of his reason, are not bringing anything closer together but keeps driving the wedge further between us all.Our allies have shown disgust as well and openly seek to distance themselves from us. The UK House of Commons recently said that if a state visit were to occur with Trump, they refused to host him.
That is unprecedented.
That is unprecedented.
Even those that have historically and politically opposed us distance themselves further and are on the defense. His policies and actions further embolden those that seek to do us harm.
He says he's draining the swamp, but I don't think so. He's just making it more vile and putrid.
Note from the future (2024) - I didn't finish writing this, because it seemed that his posts got worse as I continued to write, and me talking about the obvious almost seemed obvious and futile (at the time).
